3 of my favorite Amazon items that just makes sense!
Okay, so let me start off by saying, I have a toxic relationship with Amazon Prime.
Totally cliché, totally true.
It’s just sooo good. As soon as I have a free minute I am on there scrolling! And Subscribe and Save?!? OMG. Prime days just passed, and let me tell you…I definitely stayed up past my bedtime. Thanks Amazon. SO, needless to say, I am a huge Amazon fan, and, pretty much everything you find in my house is ordered from it. Yes, I am that person who replies with “Amazon!” Followed by the price, after being asked “Where did you get that?” I am here to share 3 of my favorite products, that I simply can’t live without and am SO grateful for finding them.
With my first son I spent close to 200$ on a video monitor because I was that mom that spent all night checking in making sure his little chest was going up…down…up…down…up… okay, now I can close my eyes and maybe get a couple hours in. Don’t get me wrong, it was an awesome monitor, however, what if I told you that you can get the same thing (if not better) on Amazon for $35.00. The YI Home Camera is the most amazing video monitor I have come across. This totally sounds like a sale pitch, but I promise it’s not. I’m just trying to share a product that is SO awesome. Even if you’re not going to use it in the baby’s room, this camera can be so handy. The first day we purchased it, we set it up in the kitchen just for fun before we headed out. Two minutes after we left I got a notification on my phone “Activity detected in kitchen” I opened up the APP to the live view, and sure enough, there was my dog standing up, paws on the counter trying to get some muffins that were left out. (he totally got them) Using the awesome talk to feature, I yelled into my phone “TELLER! GET DOWN!” He looked SO confused, and my husband and I had a good laugh. But seriously, this camera is amazing. You can select certain features like having a notification sent if it detects a baby is crying, or if there is any other “abnormal sound”. The night vision is HD and in my opinion, better than a lot of baby monitors out there. For 30 bucks, this is a steal.
Again, first time mom, I bought a 20$ sound machine (twice…sigh) for my son’s room. We live on a fairly noisy street (at times) and have a very large and loud dog, so a sound machine was crucial for us. The Dreamegg sound machine comes in at $59.99 and bonus, doubles as a nightlight. We decided to invest in the Dreamegg when the second sound machine we bought conked out on us AGAIN. We loved it so much we bought a second one for our second son and are considering buying a third for our room. The sound quality is incredible and the night light on is perfect for middle of the night feeding sessions, or for an older toddler who may be experiencing some issues with the dark. It has 29 different sounds, and a wide range of different volumes. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this sound machine.
While out shopping one day, months and months ago, before my son was anywhere close to potty training we picked him up one of those little white replica toilets that sits on the floor. It’s super cute, even makes the flushing sound. We started potty training him this past September (Stay tuned for another blog post on the subject!) and it went really well. However, when we went to visit my parents, we had a hard time getting him to pee on the actually toilet. So we ended up having to bring this little white potty everywhere we went. Before training we had ordered the above potty training seat and decided to hook it up to our toilet and put away the little white potty. He began to use it right away and from then on, he would pee anywhere, on any toilet. It was a great way to get him to start peeing on the actual toilet.
This potty training seat is awesome, it starts at $48.99 and comes in 3 different colors. It is easy to put together and, you can take it on and off the toilet with ease. It fits snuggly under the toilet seat and is secure and sturdy. The step stool is the perfect height, and is very easy to clean. Absolutely love it and recommend it!
